To do a thesis at the Grenoble Doctoral School of Physics, you must first hold a Master's degree - mainly in physics - obtained in France or abroad, for which your internship will have been carried out in a research unit. A Master's degree in science or an equivalent Master's degree is a prerequisite for admission.
Preparing for a thesis is a long and demanding process. For this reason, the Grenoble Physics Doctoral School applies an entry selection system, admitting only students who have obtained an average of at least 12/20 in their final year of their Master's degree. In the case of an application from a student who obtained his/her Master's degree in a foreign country, this selection is examined by the Doctoral College Equivalence Commission, taking into account the evaluation system of the country where the Master's degree was obtained.
Secondly, you need to find a research supervisor and a thesis topic in one of our host research units: see the PhD Subjects & funding section.
In consultation with your future thesis supervisor, you must then look for funding (>1200 €/month) : see the PhD Subjects & funding section.
