Requesting affiliation as an HDR supervisor at the ED PHYS
Please note : if you do not yet hold the HDR, you cannot apply to be affiliated with a doctoral school.
A researcher is initially automatically affiliated with the doctoral school in which they defend their HDR; subsequently, in the event of a job transfer, they must notify the school and request a transfer from their former affiliated school. They must then apply for affiliation with the new doctoral school they wish to join.
If a researcher who is already HDR but not affiliated with the Doctoral School of Physics wishes to become affiliated, they will be asked to provide a detailed CV listing their past supervisory experience, as well as a letter explaining their reasons for requesting affiliation. A meeting with the chair of the HDR Committee will also be required.
As with applications to take the HDR and requests for accreditation, applications for affiliation are examined by the Doctoral School's HDR Committee. As this committee meets every three to four months, it is necessary to submit your application well in advance (see the HDR Committee page).
