PhD student training is complementary to research work. It is compulsory and lasts a minimum of 120 hours spread over the duration of the thesis (there is no maximum). It is made up as follows : 1/3 of scientific training related to the field of the thesis, i.e. approximately 40 hours, and 2/3 of training not related to the field of the thesis, i.e. approximately 80 hours, to be carried out via the Doctoral College's training catalogue. It is possible to have certain external training courses recognised as PhD courses.
