Ecole de Physique des Houches, France
The 10th International Doctoral Training Session "Frontiers of Condensed Matter" will take place in Les Houches, Sep 28-Oct 9, 2026. It is co-organized by the Ecole Doctorale de Physique (Grenoble, France), the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience Delft (Delft, The Netherlands), the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Karlsruhe, Germany), the Materials Physics Center (San Sebastian, Spain), and the Swiss Nanoscience Institute (Basel, Switzerland).
This international doctoral training session aims at offering Master and junior PhD students a high-level training program in the general area of Condensed Matter Physics. The session will consist of lecture series on the following topics:
• Quantum transport and spintronics – Thomas Ihn (Zürich Switzerland)
• Topological phases of matter – Piet Brouwer (Berlin, Germany)
• Superconducting circuits – Nicolas Roch (Grenoble, France)
• Quantum materials & unconventional superconductivity – Elena Gati (Dresden, Germany)
• 2D van der Waals heterostructures – Talieh Ghiasi (Delft, The Netherlands)
• Spin and orbital magnetism – Rafael Fernandes (Minneapolis, United States)
complemented by more specialized pedagogical seminars on timely topics, poster sessions, and discussion forums.
List of seminar speakers: To be announced.
Registration will open in March/April 2026. The application deadline is June 15, 2026.
