Physics Doctoral School

All PhD students have a thesis director and, in some cases, a co-director or co-supervisor. This thesis director must hold the Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) qualification or have applied for temporary authorisation to supervise a thesis without the HDR. They must also be affiliated with the Doctoral School, which is automatic if they have obtained their HDR there, but must be requested if they come from another institution. All requests are processed by the Doctoral School's HDR Committee.
